flexrank — Terms of Service

This document is available in several languages for convenience. In case of any conflict or ambiguity between versions, the English version prevails.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, browsing, or placing a bid on flexrank ("Platform", "Service", "we", "us"), you ("User", "you") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to all of these Terms, do not use the Platform. You must actively accept these Terms when registering; the acceptance timestamp is stored with your account.

2. Nature of the Service (advertising & entertainment marketplace)

  • Advertising and visibility space. flexrank is a pay-to-rank promotional directory and public leaderboard. Placing a bid is the purchase of a temporary digital advertising placement and ranking position for a specified social media handle.
  • NO GAMBLING / NO INVESTMENT / NO CASH-OUT. flexrank is not a gambling platform, betting service, lottery, or financial investment vehicle. All payments are 100% non-refundable service fees for promotional ranking. You cannot withdraw, redeem, pay out, or cash out any funds, credits, or balances from the Platform under any circumstances. Bids carry no expectation of financial return, equity, or monetary yield.
  • Ranking value = last successful bid. The ranking position of a profile is determined solely by the amount of the most recent successful bid placed on it. Previous bids do not accumulate, do not add up, and are not preserved as "credit", balance, or entitlement of any kind. To outrank a profile whose last successful bid is X, a strictly higher bid is required.

3. Account registration & authentication

You must be at least 18 years old (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. Accounts are managed via Firebase Authentication; you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account.

4. Permissionless bidding & social media handles

  • Public bidding. flexrank operates on a permissionless bidding model: any user may submit, feature, and bid to promote any publicly accessible social media handle, regardless of whether the owner of that handle is registered on flexrank.
  • No rights over the handle. Placing a bid on a handle you do not own confers no right, license, or control whatsoever over that social media profile or its content, and does not guarantee that the profile owner will claim the listing, acknowledge it, or interact with the Platform in any way.
  • No endorsement or affiliation. Featuring a handle on flexrank does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation by the social platform (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, Kick, Discord, X, LinkedIn, GitHub, Spotify, Substack) or by the individual owner of the handle, unless explicitly verified. For Discord, the listed entity is a server, identified through a public invite link supplied by users.
  • Trademark disclaimer. All third-party product names, logos, brands, and trademarks are the property of their respective owners and are used solely for identification, indexing, and descriptive purposes.

5. Profile verification & ownership claims

  • Soft verification. The legitimate owner of a handle may claim and verify their profile by placing a temporary verification code at the beginning of their public bio, which we read from the platform's public page.
  • Verified badge. Upon successful verification the profile is awarded the "Verified Owner" status.
  • One verified owner. Once a profile has a verified owner, it cannot be claimed by other users. Anyone who believes they are the rightful owner may open an ownership dispute; our team reviews disputes manually and may reassign or revoke ownership upon reasonable proof. Our administrators may also assign or revoke ownership manually in clear cases.
  • History stays. Verifying a profile assigns management of the listing to the verified owner; all previous rankings and historical bids remain attached to the listing and are non-refundable.

6. Payments, vouchers, and loyalty credits

  • Currency and methods. All prices and bids are denominated in euros (EUR). Payments are processed securely by Stripe using the methods Stripe makes available in your country. If your payment method operates in another currency, any conversion fees or exchange costs applied by your bank or card issuer are borne by you.
  • Non-refundable. All purchases, bid placements, and transaction fees are final and strictly non-refundable.
  • Vouchers. Promotional vouchers and loyalty credits have no monetary cash value and cannot be exchanged for money. Vouchers are single-use, non-transferable, and subject to the expiration dates indicated on the Platform. We reserve the right to void vouchers in cases of suspected fraud, abuse, or multi-account exploitation.
  • Grace period (visual only). The leaderboard display of the #1 position may be frozen for up to 10 minutes after a new king is crowned, so the achievement remains visible and shareable. Bids placed during that window are always accepted and take effect in the underlying ranking immediately; only the public display of the top position is temporarily held.

7. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to: use the Platform for illegal purposes, money laundering, or fraud; feature or promote handles containing illegal, harmful, hateful, sexually explicit, or violent content; manipulate rankings using unauthorized bots, scripts, or exploits; attempt verification of handles you do not own; circumvent rate limits or security measures.

8. Takedown & dispute policy

If you are the legitimate owner of a handle featured on flexrank and wish to request its removal rather than claiming it, contact support@flexrank.net. Verified removal requests are processed within a reasonable timeframe. Removal of a listing does not entitle any bidder to a refund.

9. Limitation of liability & disclaimers

  • The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind.
  • No growth guarantee. flexrank makes no guarantee regarding followers, engagement, or clicks a profile may gain from its rank. Social metrics shown on the Platform are collected from public sources on a best-effort basis and may be delayed, approximate, or unavailable.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, flexrank and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

10. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Country of the operating company — to be completed before launch], without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain unaffected.
